NMAL’s Team Eliminations Event in Full Swing

Like this on Facebook Share this on Twitter Share this on with +1 Pin to Pinterest

The countdown is on, 40 days until the big event.....

The application process for the National Martial Arts League's (NMAL) upcoming 2012 Team Eliminations set for July 19-22, 2012 at the Columbia Marriott Hotel is now in full swing.
After several years of meticulous preparation and setting the foundations for a professional martial arts league, NMAL is now hosting a Team Eliminations Event intended to find the best 32 teams that will comprise the cream of the crop to battle it out in the National Event. This is an exciting opportunity offered to male and female black belters aged 18 years and above as well as martial arts studio owners.

NMAL's Team Eliminations Event is open to all kicking martial arts styles with a designated contact level of light to medium. It will be a point sparring event where the top winning team can get as much as $ 25,000 cash prize. All 32 teams are to be awarded contracts so that they get paid while competing. There can be no better opportunity for showcasing individual and team expertise, not to mention the opportunity to establish a training school's reputation for producing winning martial artists.

Each team will be designed to comprise of 13 competitive members and two management members. They will participate in a Kumite Competition, a form of martial arts where opponents aim to subdue each other through precision punching and kicking techniques. No karate training is complete without the mastery of Kumite.

During regular training, students are taught the techniques for control and accuracy first before attention is given to speed and power. The powerful delivery of a strike may result to injury thus the prohibition for specific contact areas particularly for low-rank karatekas. The use of protective gear is intended to minimize the possibility of injuries while sparring.

Scoring for the NMAL Eliminations Event is based on successful contact to target areas which include the chest area or the body core including the front side of the face through the use of hand or foot. Techniques that require more challenge for execution are awarded more points. It should be noted that the aim is to make contact and not to knock-out the opponents. The complete rules of the game can be viewed at http://www.thenationalmartialartsleague.com/rules/.

The exercise of restraint in the delivery of a strike is an art in itself. This simply highlights the fact that the professionalization of martial arts competitions brings martial artists nearer to the perfection of an art and a sport. The styles and precision movements are what make a Kumite Competition a spectacle to behold.

NMAL has already enlisted the support of several sponsors in different capacities. It however continues to enjoin individuals and corporations to participate and be part of its Sponsorship Program to ensure greater success for the event. Interested parties may visit http://www.thenationalmartialartsleague.com/become-a-sponsor/ for details or contact Dexter Kennedy for further information.

No one will ever know what an individual or a team can do unless they show it. This is the perfect time to act by being one of the 32 teams that will hog the limelight in the National Martial Arts League. For complete information about registration visit http://www.thenationalmartialartsleague.com/registration or direct inquiries to Dexter Kennedy at (803) 665-8453.
